BOSS BONNET INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Procedure -

Removal of factory bonnet.

1.Undo washer jets line.

2. Remove struts.

3. Undo the four (4) hinge bolts.

Installation of Boss Bonnet -

NOTE - Make sure bolt holes in bonnet are clean and free from paint etc. Remove latch from bonnet.

It is also recommended that with the E-series bonnets that you cut most of the "start" section (part without thread) off the original hinge bolts. The factory tolerances are extremely tight and there is a small risk it could damage the top skin of the bonnet if over tightened. Removing some of the bolt makes this not a problem.

1. Mount the bonnet to the hinges with the shortened bolts just finger tight (there is usually a mark on the hinge where bolt was previously tightened; this is a good mark to tighten to as a starting point).

2. Close bonnet and check positioning and gaps, the bolts should be lose enough so as to adjust bonnet left to right etc with it closed, but tight enough to hold position when happy.

3. Lift bonnet back up and tighten the four (4) hinge bolts, re-close and check positioning of bonnet (do not move on until happy with fit at this step).

4. Fit latch to bonnet with the two (2) bolts provided, again finger tight. Close bonnet completely, this should move the latch to the position it needs to be in.

5. Tighten the two (2) latch bolts if happy with fit, if not, adjust latch left to right to adjust.

6. Fit the two (2) lower pressure gas struts provided.

COMPLETE
